In 2016, the Belgian Air Force Days took place
at Florennes AB over the weekend of June 25-26. During the event the 70th
anniversary of the Belgian Air Force was celebrated. The organization
attracted a lot of participating aircraft to the show coming from all
over Europe.
During the days around the show, photo flights were planned
but unfortunately the weather did not co-operate, and some flights had to
be cancelled. Despite the bad weather some unique photo shoots took place.
Starting with the German Air Force Eurofighter in Tiger colors and the Hellenic
Air Force F-16 Demonstration Team “Zeus”. The Austrian Air Force
send over two nicely colored PC-7 Trainers, while the US Air Force flew
two F-15E Strike Eagles to the show. The highlights in the static parc were
two Turkish Air Force F-4 Phantoms.
Photo flights took place from the Airfield of Spa, famous
for the Formula 1 circuit. The Airfield is home to the local Para Club which
flies the Cessna Caravan. The same pilot also owns a very nice looking Yak
52 which he was happy to show us.
